Born
in 1965 in Sunning County, Hebei Province, Zhang Zhaohui graduated respectively
in 1988 from Tianjin-based Nankai University when he majored in Museum Studies(BA),
in 1995 from the Graduate School of China Art Academy(MA), and in 1998 from
the Cneter for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, New York(MA). He ever worked
at the National Chinese Art Museum, the Red gate Gallery, Courtyard Gallery,
and He Xiangning Art Gallery. Many influential exhibitions he curated were
staged in Beijing, Shenzhen, New York, and Tokyo, including Where
Heaven and Earth meet, Departing
from China, Food
as art, and Gravity
of the Garden. A great deal of his writings both on traditional/modern
Chinese art and contemporary world art have been published on domestic and
international art magazines. Seven books and catalogues authored by him are
available at China¡¯s bookstores.
