Shen Peng
was born in September 1, 1931, in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province.A
famous Chinese calligrapher, art scholar and editor, he
was elected as chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers' Association
at the end of 2000 after serving as vice chaiman and acting
chairman for several years. Well known for his running and
cursive styles of calligraphy, Shen has exhibited his works
of art in many important exhibitions in China and abroad.
He has edited or compiled more than 400 books and published
numerous albums of his own art. He also wrote more than
800,000 words of art essays and more than 400 poems or ci.
Shen is current vice president of the Chinese Federation
of Literary and Art Circles and a member of the Chinese
People's Political Consultative Conference.
