Li Mingjiu
was born in Jinlin in 1939, painter Li Mingju's pen-names
include"Man of Changbai", "Walker in the
Mountains" and "Owner of Woshantang".
Upon graduating from the Art Institute of Harbin in 1964,
he worked as an art editor for magazines and newspapers
and later as a teacher in the Art Depatment Of the Normal
University of Hebei Province.
Li Mingjiu is now a member of the Chinese Artists' Association,
Vice-Chairman of the Hebei Branch of the Chinese Artists'
Association, Vice President of the Landscape Painting Research
Institute of Hebei, a member of the Political Consultative
Committee of Hebei and an Associate Professor of the Art
Program at the Normal University of Hebei. He is a talented
landscape painter. His works have been shown in many exhibitions
and published in various newspapers and magazines in China.
In addition, Li has also been involved in exhibitions held
in the United States, the Philippines, Singapore, Japan,
the former Soviet Union, Switzerland, Australia, and Hong
Kong. He has been invited to Hong Kong as part of an art
exchange program.
"Auspicious Snow", the representative work of
Li Mingju , has won bronze a medal in the Sixth National
Art Exhibition. "Autumn in Taihang" earned him
an Excellence qward in the International Art Exhibition
held in Japan. His works have been collected by the Art
Gallery of New South Wales in Australia, the Cultural Foundation
of Soviet Union, the Chinese Art Center of the Philippines,
the Chinese Artists Association, the Chinese Art Gallery,
the Great Hall of the People and the Provincial Museum of
Heilongjiang. His name has also been listed in the Art Dictionary,
the Dictionary of Artists, the Dictionary of Present Painters
in the Traditional Chinese Style, the Year Book of Chinese
Art and Who's Who: Present Chinese Artists.
