The
Ten Most Famous Types of Chinese Tea
China
has been a leading tea producer and boasts numerous varieties
of tea. There are at present more than 1000 kinds of tea
that have names in China. The most well known ones are the
10 types listed below.
1.Hangzhou
Lung Ching Lung Ching, once the name of a place and later
that of a spring, is now mainly the tea's name. Lung Ching
Tea comes from the Lung Ching Village in Hangzhou, Zhejiang
Province and was divided into four types from history-"lion,
dragon, cloud, tiger", among which the tea from the Old
Well of the Lion Peak is regarded as the best.
Lung
Ching is a kind of fried green tea and has always been famous
for its four matchless characteristics - green color, fragrant
aroma, mellow flavour and graceful shape. Lung Ching Tea
should be brewed in a glass. Since it is transparent, the
slow extension, the ups and downs of the leaves in the water,
and the bright green color all come clearly into view. To
observe this is a kind of artistic enjoyment indeed.

2.
Anxi Tieguanyin Tieguanyin is grown in Anxi, south of Fujian
Province. Its manufacturing procedures are quite complicated.
The leaves of the manufactured tea are tight and are dark
green. First-class Tieguanyin is coated with a thin layer
of frost because caffeine evaporates with the water during
its processing. When brewed by water, a natural fragrance
of orchid comes out and the tea has a pure and heavy aroma.
If it is served in a small and exquisite tea set, by smelling
it first and then tasting it, you will have endless aftertaste
in your mouth. Since Oolong Tea was found to be good for
health and beauty in recent years, Tieguanyin has become
very popular in Japan and South East Asia.
3.Wuyi
Rock Tea Grown in Wuyi Mountain located in Chong'an County,
Fujian Province, Wuyi Rock Tea is semifermented and its
way of processing falls between that of green tea and black
tea. Its major types are "Big Red Gown", "White Cockscomb",
