Born in 1940 in Guiping, Guangxi, Jiang graduated in 1964 from the Guangxi Art Institute, majoring in oil painting. He is now a senior editor at the Guangxi Fine Arts Press, editor-in-chief of the Modern Calligraphy magazine and the Chinese Watercolor magazine, honorary board member of the China Society of Modern Calligraphic Arts, a member of the Chinese Artists' Association, and a member of the Chinese Calligraphers' Association. An enthusiastic supporter and active promoter of China's Modern Calligraphy Artistic Movement, he has organized many important exhibitions and activities of modern calligraphy. The Modern Calligraphy magazine is the first of its kind officially published in China and has become the most important theoretical base and demonstration channel of modern calligraphy since it was published in 1992.He has exhibited his works in China and abroad and published some albums.
