¡þ Preface ¡þ

The El Nino twisting the planet across the mountains and oceans, the global pattern is being rearranged in the pursuit of the century-end twilight. The historic giant of China is waking up from its deep dreams. The 21st century, an era of the East, will see the rise of our homeland -- China. The unique pictographic system of Chinese characters has bred the art of calligraphy... After 5000 years, beautiful petals of modern calligraphy blossomed in the spring rain of a historic moment. Emerging arduously in the past 15 years, it keeps striving forward today. With boundless bronzes and tablets under our feet, we, the descendants of this motherland of calligraphy, is facing a bright future in an era of vibrant changes -- in nature and arts, in computer and aerospace. The era of digital living and bionics calls for equivalent art. The explorers of modern calligraphy have made up their minds and are working day and night on the same exercise --> to prove that modern calligraphy is a brand of the utmost Chinese flavor. All soldiers, we join force. In the resonance of train wheels on the tracks to Sichuan, let us register in Bashu and inspect each other in the City of Lotus. Display our feats and toughen our will; Eliminate the weakness and improve ourselves. ``Burning incense, (we) enjoy artwork on the riverside of Jinjiang; Raising a platform, (we) examine shooting in the mountain of Qingcheng." The grand family unification of modern calligraphy is in our sights. Let's shake off the dust settled in the journey and step into the year 2000.
